The selected cargo van can only be picked up from designated CityBee cargo zones, but at the end of the ride, it can be left in any allowed CityBee cargo zone in any city that has a CityBee truck zone.
In other words, the vehicle does not need to be returned to the same parking lot from which it was picked up.
Cargo van zones differ from passenger car zones. You can filter them in the app by clicking on the truck icon:
Once you click on the cargo van icon, only cargo van zones and cargo van locations will be displayed on the map.
If this feature is not yet visible in your app, please check if an update is available!
❗During an active reservation, the correct zones are also visible in the Reservation section, where you can see all the information about your active reservation and the car you are using.
If you are planning a trip outside the territory of Riga, please check whether a CityBee van parking zone is available in your chosen city and pay attention to the fact that it is possible to park a van in the yellow parking zones for an additional fee, which may be different in each yellow zone.
The yellow zones are available so that the van can also be parked outside the territory of Riga.
You can see the exact price of the additional amount – by clicking on the EUR symbol at the specific yellow area.
You can use CityBee cars without 2 years of driving experience!
However, in Lithuania and Estonia, you must bring a personal “Maple Leaf” magnetic sticker, which you must stick to the back of the car in Lithuania and to the front of the car in Estonia. Do not forget to remove the sticker at the end of your trip.
Please note that this service is provided in Lithuania and Estonia.
As in a regular car, you need to turn the key or press a „Start engine“ button.
Important: It does not turn on until you properly put on a seatbelt.
Moreover, the engine is absolutely silent, so you won’t hear it turned on.
The amount of the BeeChill fee for each car is indicated in the App.
The radar function in the CityBee app helps the user to be the first to know if any of the CityBee cars are nearby his location at a specific time chosen by the user.
The radar function icon can be found in the “Search” section of the app, to the left of the “Filter” icon. When you click on the icon and activate the radar, it will turn blue.
The minimum radar distance is 150 meters, the maximum – 1250 meters.
When activating the radar, you can choose between two options:
Notification without automatic reservation – when a CityBee car appears at the specified time and distance, the app will send a message to the user to inform them about it.
Automatic reservation – when a CityBee car appears at the specified time and distance, an automatic car reservation will be made by choosing the “Pay as you go” tariff. The tariff can be changed after car reservation. Car reservation remains free until the end of the free reservation period (15 min).
Additional information:
The radar function will be activated at the specified time and will remain active until you reserve your car. If the car is not available within 2 hours, the radar will switch off. The radar function detects only cars that are incoming in the current location of the user and chosen distance when the radar function is activated.
